The Krazy Normal host leaves the youthful station after eight years as a radio host and his last show is slated for January 28.

The mohawk hairstyled Chadhall opened up to Showbiz admitting. “I am dedicating my entire time to the arts and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) culture in Botswana. I will be travelling a lot and basically spending weeks in other countries. So staying on was going to devaluate my show a little and honestly it was time to give the next best talent a chance,” he said.

At Yarona FM he was promoting the arts and EDM culture through hosting events such as Chillstep Sundays and EDM events. He noted that he is also establishing an art gallery in the coming months, which will be based in Gaborone.

He said he is leaving the radio station a grateful man because it groomed him to be the business-minded person he is today. “Yarona FM is the reason I am even somewhat a media personality. Working under Mr Owen Rampha and Mr Uyapo ‘Big Duke’ Khupe was one of the best times of my life. I got to learn from people who had been part of this for years and they were never selfish with their knowledge. Mr O made sure I found my stand as a music representative and Big Duke made sure the EDM maniac in me came out.  Everything I am now, I owe it to them, (sic)”.

He vividly stated that he is not moving to any radio station, as Yarona FM remains his best station in the country.

When quizzed on what he thinks of local radio standards, he said he believes they have declined.

“Radio standards have really gone down. Radio was once at its peak, being the biggest and most trusted medium ever. Radio created superstar presenters, superstar artists, it was the voice of events and all things entertainment.

It made you feel good, then apps, music channels and free downloads came and radio was arrogant enough not to take them head on.

Now they are showing us flames, because at the top of the youth and people’s thought of choice. Also radio presenters really need to stop talking too much on radio, people already get too much of that and most times they just want to listen to music,” he said.

Apart from promoting the arts and EDM culture in the country, Chadhall will also be focusing on his music career, as an EDM artist that has released a number of tracks. “For about three years now, I have been working with local and international producers on the album.

Perfection takes long some times. However the samples we gave people have been highly received. The album is scheduled to be out this year,” he said.
