Scribes give it to Dynamos

Yarona FM sports anchor, Macdonald 'Chilliboy' Rakgare said although it is every Motswana's wish to see GU win, Dynamos are the favourites. He said that technically Dynamos is more superior to GU. 'What can work for GU is the mental strength but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose 2-0,' Rakgare said.

He said if GU trail from the first leg in Harare, it would be difficult for them to reverse the score line in Gaborone.Zimbabwe's Herald Sports Editor, Robson Sharuko, speaking from Harare yesterday, said there is an air of confidence in the Dynamos' camp. He said the feeling is that the home side will literally walkover GU. 'There is a spirit of mistaken invincibility in the Dynamos' camp. The fans are equally dismissive and believe that their team will win both legs,' Sharuko said.

However, he said some supporters are concerned that Dynamos has not been playing to their best. They struggled to beat DRC side, FC Lupopo before another uninspiring display during their Independence Cup triumph on Sunday.

'There is concern among sober minds who feel that Dynamos has not played their best football. They could have lost to Lupopo given their lacklustre display,' Sharuko said.

He said Dynamos' departure from their traditional home ground; the compact Rufaro Stadium in the sprawling location of Mbare might change the complexion of the game.

He said the National Sports Stadium, venue of Sunday's contest, does not provide the intimidating noise from supporters who are further from the pitch compared to Rufaro. Sharuko said Dynamos' supporters have no regard for GU's famous result against Orlando Pirates as the South African League is not highly regarded in Zimbabwe.
