Kutlwano campaigns in Group of Death

The Zone VI champions have been pitted against eight-time winners, Ahly of Egypt, two-time winners Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia, Mugher Cement of Ethiopia, Port of Cameroon and Ahly  Benni Ghazi of Libya.

According to the championship website, a tough competition is expected between Al Ahly though it is widely expected that Etoile will win the competition.  In their first game, Kutlwano will face Mugher Cement. The teams in the competition have been increased to 20 from 18.

Other teams in the tournament are Force Terrestre of Rwanda, GSU of Kenya, Manga Sport (Gabon), Sfax (Tunisia), El Nahda (Sudan), Muzinga (Burundi), defending champions Zamalek (Egypt), Police of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Defence of Ethiopia, FAP (Cameroon), APR (Rwanda) and Mohamadia Borj Bouarrirj (Algeria).

The tournament will be played in a round robin basis.

The top two clubs in each group will make it to the quarterfinals. The competition started yesterday. Tunisian clubs have won the title 14 times.
