The colourful jam-packed event, which was in its fifth year, gave people an opportunity to taste the traditional cuisines including seswaa, dinawa, ditloo, bogobe ja lerotse, traditional brew just to mention a few.

Traditional dance music musos’ Ditiro of ‘Mme Mpeole Ditedu’ , Morwa Tsankana, Maraka, Skhanda, and Culture Spears, gave revellers a show to remember.

The cheerful crowd could not get enough of Culture Spears as they dished songs from their latest album ‘Dibeisane’.

The energetic crowd kept taking turns singing dikhwaere, which are popular amongst the Bangwaketse tribe.

The DJs NT Base, Root, Crispen just to mention a few also did not disappoint as they kept the crowd on their toes the whole night.

President Mokgweetsi Masisi who graced the event appreciated efforts of Bathoen II Trust for organising such a magnificent event.

He even assured them his support at the next instalment of the event, which is slated for next year.  One of the event organisers, Malebogo Modise told Showtime the event was a success as people showed up in large numbers.

“The crowd was impressive, people showed up in large numbers wearing beautiful traditional attires.

We are impressed as we managed to attract people from different tribes to come to our event because in future we want this day to be a cultural exchange festival. This event is about sharing customs, values and social behaviours,” she said.

According to Modise, the proceeds of the event will be used to fence the Mmakgodumo Dam, which she said would then be cited as a national heritage site. The event was organised by Bathoen II Trust in partnership with Bangwaketse Association.
