The Orapa United and Rollers encounter is expected to be an intriguing one, as Rollers will be eyeing to redeem themselves from the humiliation they suffered at the hands of the Ostriches in last year’s final, which they lost 3-1.

Rollers are targeting a fourth final and are in pursuit of a second Mascom Top 8 title. Orapa United will on the other hand aim for a second successive final.

Both teams will represent the country in the CAF club competitions. The two are also in the league race where leaders, Orapa are two points ahead of Rollers.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport after the draw, Rollers team manager, Motshegetsi Mafa said playing Orapa United in the semi-final is not a big deal for them.

“We have professional players and some of them have plied their trade in countries like South Africa. They know how to approach these kinds of games,” he said.

He noted that playing Orapa United in the first leg away is an advantage to them.

Ostriches spokesperson, Tebatso Hule said they are not worried to meet Rollers.

“We have beaten them before, no team can claim to undermine Orapa United and we are going to the semi finals with a vision that we want to go to the final again,” Hule said.

BDF XI are eyeing a second Mascom Top 8 final appearance after winning the 2014 edition.

Jwaneng Galaxy, making their first appearance in the tournament, will strive to emulate the performance of their mining town’s counterparts, Orapa by reaching the final on their maiden appearance.

BDF XI start away and the organisers have not announced the dates.
