“Our main problem in Mogoditshane is our land board. It is under staffed and I wrote to the President two months ago calling on him to employ more people or close it temporarily to have the employees deal with the backlog. I am yet to get a response,” he said.

Still on land issues, Kgoroba said he was proud to have fought the government to give land to children of people who were moved to make way for residences in Ledumadumane. He said even though people were compensated, it was not enough and he spoke to the then president Ian Khama to assist. He also announced that the land board would give certificates to residents of Goo-Monang.

On education issues, the legislator said he was concerned that school heads of some schools refuse to meet with him. “Our schools are not doing well with one of the reasons being that the teachers are overwhelmed with large class sizes. I thought it was only under Khama that school heads would not honour meetings with me. But even to date, some school heads in the constituency refuse to discuss with me so we can share ideas,” he said.

Kgoroba went on to slam the youth for not participating in the Village Development Committees. He said a lot of money has been stolen in the VDCs and that it would continue unless the youth play an active role in making sure they function properly. He also announced that he has registered Mogoditshane Development Trust which they will open an advertising website to sustain.

On why he left the Umbrella for Democratic Change which they voted for him under, Kgoroba said they had to form AP because things were not well under the umbrella. He said principle was paramount to him.

For his part, AP president Ndaba Gaolathe expressed confidence that his party would do well in the upcoming 2019 general elections. He said being new does not mean they will not do well citing example of the Republican in United States of America in 1860. Gaolathe called on Batswana to register and vote for people based on their capabilities and not sizes of their party.
