Cigarettes worth over P20,000 stolen at Trident

The station commander for Central police superintendent Lebalang Maniki confirmed the incident.

He said that the thieves also assaulted the security guard who was manning the premises.

“After the thieves assaulted the security guard, he was admitted at a local clinic but fortunately he was treated and discharged on the same night. He did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the assault. The thieves gained entry into the business after breaking one of its doors when the security guard spotted them. We are still on the lookout for the thieves and we plead with anyone who may know the culprits to report the matter to our police station or any nearest police station so that they answer for their transgressions,” said Maniki.

The station commander also dismissed as mere conjecture allegations that the thieves used explosives to blast two saves containing huge amounts of money that was collected on the day of the incident before making away with the loot.

“Our investigations so far show that the thieves stole cigarettes. The business’ saves were not blasted contrary to some talk from some quarters,” said Maniki adding that their investigations are still continuing.
