This will be all time Zebras top goal scorer’s second coaching clinic in the tourism capital as he hosted his first late last year.

“The coaching clinic is expected to attract about 150 children between the ages 9-16 conducted by Dipsy Selolwane and friends who will include former Zebras players and South African soccer legends,” one of the organisers Dose Mosimanyane said.

The clinic will be followed by a corporate/social eight-aside tournament involving companies doing business in and around Maun and local social clubs.

Mosimanyane further said on the same day, Olympic sliver medallist Nijel Amos and former world champion Amantle Montsho will be introducing first athletics coaching clinic. The two athletes will be accompanied by fellow runners Onneile Dintwe, Letsatsi Pakiso, Jerry Motsau, Max Maxido Ndolo and other local athletics coaches. The clinic will run concurrently with the football one and will be for children of the same age groups. The workshops will be used to inspire the youngsters in the region to make a living out of sports in an effort to beat poverty in the area. The Northern region has produced elite athletes like Montsho, sprinter Yatea Kambembera and this year’s Olympic games finalist, Karabo Sibanda. All the proceeds from the two events will be used to buy playing gear and equipment that will be distributed amongst the centres around the country.

This year marks the fifth year since the inaugural My Maun Experience event.
