The artists turned the lodging and conference facility, which seems to have lost its vibe in the recent years into a haven of entertainment, much to the delight of the revellers who had thronged the event in large numbers.

Franco and Afro Musica, More Fire and Unique Stars, Swaggerlady, Slizer, Zolasko, Mlesho Kai 1 and Tshepo G headlined the lineup for the Summer Music Festival.

The first performance started at 11 pm, probably because the organisers had realised that the bars had closed and revellers were now filling up the place. As it is the norm with Franco’s music shows, it started off with his band, Afro Musica doing the sound check.

Although not dressed in their usual regalia, their performance was impressive. By the time they left the stage, a sizeable number of revellers had already found their way into the venue. Many of them had probably walked from the nearby entertainment areas (bars). Former kwasa queen, Swaggerlady tweaked the event, which was dominated by kwasa kwasa when she performed her disco songs.  Revellers appreciated her performance and most them could not hide it as they danced along, especially when she sang the popular A re bine rotlhe.

Although Zolasko sounded more like Vee Mampeezy, as he performed songs that he featured him and the presently trending Dololo hit which Zolasko produced for Vee Mampeezy, the revellers seemed to love his energetic moves. Every time he played Vee Mampeezy’s Dololo, the crowd went crazy.

Slizer, who also demonstrated her growth in the music industry by performing live, was her usual bubbly and energetic self. She gave revellers a taste of her latest offering A ke je ye?, which the fans seemed to appreciate despite the songs not being popular.

More Fire and the Unique stars also seemed to have prepared well for the event as their performance was top notch. They performed songs from their Talante album released early this year.

Franco got up on stage at 5am and also had the fans eating from his palm. He seems to be aging gracefully like old wine. Having recently added two more dancers to his band, the group looked refreshed and revitalised. He performed songs that include Mene mene tekele and Spikira.
