Miss Francistown captivates audience

After giving the judges a hard time through their outstanding performances, Kesego Malambane was crowned Miss Francistown 2016/2017, Ntlafatso Keitile became the first princess and the second princess became Ontshegeditse Motswakhuting.

Malambane is a young woman aged 21 from Mambo village and currently pursuing a Diploma in Health and Safety Management at Business and Technical College (BTEC).

The queen will be treated with two nights stay at Adansonia Hotel whereas the first and second princesses will spend their two nights at Ngilichi Guesthouse.

In addition, all the winners will be given a subscription at Curves gym room.

In an interview with Showbiz, Malambane who was over the moon said that she is proud and happy to have won the beauty pageant.

“I have three P’s that make an unbeatable combination of my success that being patience, persistence and passion,” she said.

She added that she is passionate about positive change and wants to make a difference in the youth lives through a project where she will be nurturing talents to enhance the lives of young people.

Miss Francistown is an annual beauty contest, which offers an opportunity to gorgeous young women in the second city to showcase their talents, to create a platform for the young women to develop into responsible role models and become the city’s ambassadors.

The grand finale started with the introduction of the beauties as they paraded wearing black jeans with Miss Francistown branded t-shirts.

Their second parade, which was swimwear, set the attendants’ tongues wagging with magnificent unique designer costumes, which suited their body type and figure.

Contestants captured the hearts of the attendants when showcasing different traditional attires, which were stunning and represented the Botswana cultural heritage.

Some of the contestants put on traditional leather clothing, while others opted to go for simple German print skirts, accessorised with a shawl to give a true Motswana woman look.  To put a cherry on top during the evening gown parade participants wore unique fabulous attires, which made them look even more sophisticated.

Other sponsors included Ghetto Kasi Laam clothing line, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Kulture Design and Printing and others.

During the tough competition, the Northern Arts Awards (NAA) winner under the Best hip/hop-motswako category Clint and renowned Disc Jockey (DJ) DJ Bunz, Que Rap, Boiteg and Angie gave a sizzling performance to thrill the revelers.
