Thata Kenosi misses out on Miss World

Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico walked away as the winner of this year’s Miss World and succeeded Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain. 

Despite being a favourite to win The Great Pageant Community (TGPC) Miss Popularity, where she was on second position, she did not make it to the top 20 contestants. Kenya and Ghana were the only African countries to make it into the top 20.

Despite the loss Kenosi maintained her cool as she congratulated Stephanie Del Valle for wining the title.

“Congratulating the newly crowned Miss World 2016, Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico! (sic),” Kenosi said through her Twitter account.

Despite not making far in the pageant Kenosi had been confident that she would fight till the last stages of the pageant.

Before the grand finale she was quoted saying, “I cannot wait for the beach competition. After vigorously training for my beach body, I am proud to say I stand a good chance. I have received professional training to improve my walk and I must say it has paid off. I am now ready to show (or shock) the world, (sic)”.

However words of consolation and motivation to Kenosi have been coming out from different individuals notably from former Miss Botswana, Tapiwa Preston who was quoted saying, “The only thing Thata Kenosi needs to know, and let settle in her heart, is that, there’s bigger more fulfilling things in this lifetime waiting for her”.

This time around things were a bit easier for people to watch Miss World as it was streamed live on different digital platforms such as Facebook apart from being only aired on TV channels. It has previously been aired on pay TV channels, which was a challenge for some people that do not have such platforms.
