On song: Jwaneng Galaxy have finally hit the right gear

A brace from Thero Setsile and a goal each from defender, Isaac Paeye and Thabang Sesinyi saw them dispatch Gunners who have been blowing hot and cold in their own backyard.

The victory against Gunners moved them to position four on the log standings with 19 points. They have the same number of points as third-placed Black Forest. Both Galaxy and Forest have a game in hand.

They face each other tomorrow and a victory for anyone would see them move to 22 points and equal second-placed Township Rollers on points.

The match between Galaxy and Black Forest was postponed during the start of the league after referees downed tools complaining of unpaid wages. Galaxy then went onto play to a draw in the next match against GU before they played to another draw in the next game against Orapa United. The next matches were losses to Rollers and Police XI.

Their first victory came against Nico United, then played 0-0 against BDF XI and returned to winning ways against Security Systems, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Green Lovers.

That was before they were held to a draw by Miscellaneous. Although the 4-1 win against Gunners was a bit surprising to many, they have always looked dangerous in attack although they have not been lucky in front of goals. With Setsile, Sesinyi, Christopher Musonda, Morris Rudzivo and Lesego Lubinda in their team, Galaxy boasts a very scary team in attack.

Gunners on the other hand would be disappointed to end the year outside the top five bracket. The Peleng giants twice led the log standings but now look inconsistent. The victory against Gaborone United was to act as a motivation after they had lost to Rollers the previous weekend. However, they failed to come to the party on Sunday. They are currently sixth on the log with 18 points.

Meanwhile, Orapa United will end the year at the summit of the league table after their win over Gilport Lions on Friday.

Rollers are also highly-placed to finish in the second position despite the prospects of either Black Forest or Jwaneng Galaxy making 22 points on Wednesday.

Rollers have a healthy plus 13 goal difference while Black Forest and Galaxy have eight and six respectively.
