Festive Gospel Extravaganza Was A Thrill

Despite the event starting more than three hours late, the artists gave spectacular performances.

The evening started off at a high tune as the local talent search show, My Star 2016 winner, Ontefetse embraced the audience with beautiful hymns. The young man proved to have a powerful voice that left the audience emotional.

Amongst the thrilling performances was that of Vee Mampeezy also known as Lepantsola la Mokeresete within the Christian community.

As usual, the young energetic artist and his dancers got the hall roaring in excitement with their spectacular performance. Mampeezy served the audience with his some of his songs like no suffer, baba, supernatural and others.

He later played a tribute to Sfiso Ncwane who died before their collaboration at Vee Mampeezy’s Fill Up Stanbic Molapo Piazza last weekend.

Amongst the blissful and spiritual performances was of Kgotso Makgalema with his divine hymns such as Jehova, Rea Hae Lehodimo, Messiah, E Jwale, O Mohao, Keletlotlo Sefapano and others. Both his worship and praise songs got the audience singing and dancing throughout.

Amongst the young and talented upcoming gospel singers was Kolobetso who mesmerised the audience with her immense talent.

The young woman with an angelic voice gave many the chills with her guitar playing skills. 

Also on point with their performances were gospel giants such as Matthews Matsetse, who gave a beautiful redention of his well known songs, Lion of Judah and This Love, and Rejoice with her beautiful pieces like What a Mighty God, Siya Bonga and others. Matsetse is a well-known singer in the country and has performed and collaborated with both international and local gospel artists.

The handsome, young and talented Dube Brothers who seemed to have stolen a number of young ladies’ hearts also gave the audience a beautiful performance. They sang some of their songs like I Feel You Jesus, God is Able, and Thank You.

The Dube Brothers is a band made up of three sons of SA gospel legend pastor Benjamin Dube.

The trio has introduced a rich, soulful innovative gospel approach that had attracted a number of fans more especially amongst the youth.

Zimu is a talented and dynamic musician who has seen his childhood vision manifest into the rich musical career. Having collaborated with some of the greats in the SA industry either as songwriter, vocalist, sessionist or producer he has undoubtedly earned respect amongst his colleagues as a multi instrumentalist and an asset to any music project.

As for Makgalema, he is amongst the renowned SA gospel legends, having made a mark on the SA gospel industry over the years.

Calvary Tabernacle Ministries brought the event. Pastor David Houston Ototeng, who is the founder and leader of the ministry, sponsored it. Its objective is to help raise funds for some disadvantaged communities.
