The celebrated South African kwaito legend moved the full packed crowd with his hits from the 90s at Ke December Invasion Music Festival held at Magestic Five Hotel on Saturday. Before Mdu’s sensational performance, DJ Latimmy warmed the stage giving an ecstatic performance and soon the dance floor was filled with revellers mesmirised by the Nanzele Vuke hit maker’s beats and dance moves.

He treated the audience to various music genres like house, kwaito and hip-hop. Gosiame hit maker, DJ King Feature Rittar did not disappoint the fans as well as he dished a thrilling performance with his hit song Gosiame which has been on everbody’s tongue recently making it one of the popular songs this festive season.

The moment Mdu set his foot on stage music enthusiasts were treated to the night they will never forget. He reminded them why he is named among the celebrated artists in South Africa and also King of Kwaito.

The legend took to the stage with his hit track Tsiki Tsiki Yo as soon as the dance floor was filled with revellers, who came to see him perform live on stage. Feeling the heat from the crowd who set the dance floor on fire, he took off his hood, leaving a T-Shirt as he performed Mama Ka Nomsa.

The celebrated musician fired things up when he performed the late Mandoza’s hit song Nkalakatha. For a moment one could have sworn the late kwaito legend was the one performing the song himself because Mdu sounded exactly like him.

Revellers sang along to the 90s hit song, some in tears as they were moved by the ecstatic performance of the musician they once embraced. Another South African kwaito legend Thebe Mogane put the cherry on top by reminding kwaito lovers why it rocked back in the 90s.

He schooled the crowd with his renowned tune Bula Boot and his electrifying moves.

The South African star showed that indeed music is a universal language as locals sang along to Zulu and Setswana songs.

Other local musicians did not disappoint as well as they spoiled the audience with heartfelt performances.

Han C had the audience down to their knees with his song Sedi laka mponesetsa tsela; Scar also followed the same rhythm leaving the music enthusiasts yearning for more. Dramaboi wrapped up the event on a high note.

The young motswako rapper performed his hit song Sala le nna much to the appreciation of the audience who left satisfied by the night that fuelled their mood for the festive season.

Also lined up for entertainment making the event a successful one were DJ Boogie Sid, DJ Bieps amongst others.
