The President is from Moshupa and a majority of his senior appointments are from Kanye, Thamaga and his home village.

Just recently, Masisi appointed Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany while Dr John Seakgosing was sent to the United Kingdom as the new High Commissioner. Masire-Mwamba is from Kanye while Seakgosing is from Thamaga.

Another appointment is that of Elias Magosi who is the Deputy Permanent Secretary to the President in the Office of the President.

Apparently, he is the highest paid public servant after he was recruited from Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat where he served as director, Human Resources and Administration.  He is from Kanye just like Peter Magosi, the director general of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS).

Their homeboy, Major Mogatwane is the aide de camp.  The aide de camp is the ceremonial soldier who stands behind the President. Masisi also recalled the former Botswana High Commissioner in Kenya, John Moreti and promoted him to the post of chief of protocol.  He is from Ramotswa just like the former Bank of Botswana governor, Linah Mohohlo who is now the University of Botswana (UB) chancellor.

Masisi also promoted Judge Terrence Rannowane from Thamaga as the Chief Justice when precedence dictated that a senior member of the Judiciary should succeed retired Chief Justice Maruping Dibotelo. Senior private secretary to the President Berzac Maphakwane is from Thamaga as well as the government spokesperson John Dipowe.

Another Thamaga native is Court of Appeal judge, Monametsi Gaongalelwe who chairs the Presidential Commission to review salaries and conditions of service of senior leadership in public service.

This commission will look at  salaries, conditions of service and other entitlements of the President, the Vice President, the speaker of the national assembly, ministers, assistant ministers, the deputy speaker, the Leader of the Opposition, Members of Parliament, members of Ntlo Ya Dikgosi and councillors.

The director of Public Service Management is Goitseone Mosalakatane from Kanye.

It is alleged that she earns more than her predecessor, Ruth Maphorisa who was deployed as permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
