Wharton Business school coming to Botswana

Wharton 2010 is the inaugural programme of the Botswana International Business School Seminar (BIBSS). 'Inspired by the Botswana Excellence Strategy on Diversification and Sustainable Growth, BIBSS is a non-profit private sector-driven organisation created in collaboration with the Education HUB to bring leading edge executive education from the world's best business schools to Botswana to enhance the capacity of our business leaders to grow and diversify the economy,' explained BIBSS founder and Chairman, Philip Fischer.

Every year, 10,000 leaders of companies from around the world attend one or more of the 230 Executive Education Programs conducted at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. In addition, Wharton's Global Initiatives programme delivers executive education in Asia, India, Europe and the Middle East. 'BIBSS is the very first executive education programme that the Wharton School has ever conducted in Africa and to mark the occasion, Wharton is sending their A team.'

Leading the Wharton faculty group is the Dean of Wharton Global Initiatives, Professor  Harbir Singh, author of the bestselling book The India Way on how India's top business leaders are revolutionising management practices.

Also on board is Professor Ian Macmillan, Executive Director of Wharton's Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Centre; James Thompson, Director of the Wharton Societal Wealth Programme and innovation and entrepreneurship specialist Adjunct Professor Ron Pierantozzi.

The Wharton 2010 programme will be focusing on a unique set of management tools designed at Wharton's Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Centre to achieve and sustain competitive advantage. The Theme of the Wharton 2010 programme is 'SUSTAINING PROFITS IN TIMES OF TURMOIL'.
