Elias who won the three horse race pageant in September was drawn in the group alongside Korea, Bahamas, Zimbabwe, Chile and Japan during a live draw at the Mangrove Tree Resort World, Sanya, China yesterday. For the head to head challenge, there are 20 groups consisting of six contestants each. The challenge returns for the second time after receiving 1.2 billion views, likes and shares and 14 million votes in 2017.

Each group will have one winner determined by public votes therefore Elias will bank on Batswana’s support in order to edge out other contestants in the group. If Elias manages to win the group she will face 19 other winners from various group for the 10 spots in the Miss World final 30.

The ‘Head to Head’ challenge will comprise of events taking place at different selected locations in Sanya, China between now and the next few weeks. Besides the head to head challenge Elias could still book a spot in the final given that the judges will also select candidates based on how they have performed throughout the competition. The other candidates will proceed to the final based on fast-tracking events that include the categories Beauty with a Purpose, Multimedia, Sports, Talent, and Top Model.

This offers Elias the chance to be featured in the spotlight during the Miss World Festival. The renewed focus on social media and interactivity also grants opportunity to all the contestants to further their reach and stand a better chance to be at the finals.
