The accused are charged together with a special constable Abednico Mothaba, Zimbabwean Joseph Kateya, South African Lazarus Bhebhe, locals Kabo Ngwenya, Khumo Tibone, Edwin Sereme and Chesta Mehlwa Tshelele for allegedly breaking into and stealing goods especially plasma television sets of various types from Nihama Pty Ltd and Super Life Trading storeroom on October 20, October 9 and October 31.

The accused are also charged with breaking into a dwelling house belonging to Jianping Zhou at Molapo Estates on October 25.

In another count, the state alleges after the accused broke into the house, they

proceeded to steal plasma television sets and other household goods worth P23,780 belonging to Jianping on the same day.

Granting the duo bail on Wednesday, Justice Gaolapelwe Ketlogetswe said that the state has failed to update the court on the progress of its investigations.

When the duo made an urgent application for bail about two weeks back, Ketlogetswe told the state to expedite its investigations.

The judge then remanded the accused in custody.

But today, on Wednesday, Ketlogetswe granted the duo bail on condition that surrender their passports to the station commander of Central police, each pay P5,000 as surety, report to Francistown police station every Monday and Thursday, not interfere with witnesses and appear in court as and when required to do so.
