Final Appellant board to decide Mabaila's fate

President Mokgweetsi Masisi is the chairperson of the committee and will decide on the members who sit in that committee. 
The party’s national disciplinary committee last month, slapped Mabaila with five years suspension and he has since appealed the verdict to Masisi.
Yesterday BDP secretary general Mpho Balopi told the media that Masisi had informed the central committee that he would choose the Final Appellant Committee and deliberate on the matter next week. 
“I think before the end of next week the issue will be dealt with and Mogoditshane constituents will know the way forward,” Balopi said. 
Masisi suspended Mabaila for committing offences against the rules and regulations and General Code of Conduct of the ruling party.
Some of the offences listed include behaving in a grossly disorderly and unruly manner that might put the party’s name into disrepute contrary to General Code of Conduct number 11 and sowing seeds of discord in the party, using regionalism, tribalism or factionalism contrary to General Code of Conduct number 6.
Another offence is contemptuous behaviour towards the BDP leadership and other members contrary to General Code of Conduct number 7. “As a party member, you were obliged to abide by the constitution, rules and regulations of the party, and are expected to promote the philosophy, policies and programmes as stated particularly in Article 14 sub-section 1 and 2 thereof.” 
It was also alleged that he had encouraged MP Sethomo Lelatisitswe and Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Alfred Madigele to support the opposition on a motion of no confidence against President Masisi. 
Mabaila has appealed complaining that Madigele and Lelatisitswe did not come to give evidence even though they were summoned to before the disciplinary committee.
