In the 126-paged wisdom filled book, Mhlanga eloquently shares testimonies and experiences of his life with the reader.

The 26-year-old pastor, having dealt with some bad cards in life, seeks to use his experiences to reach out to broken and lost souls.  His brilliant mind and compassionate soul inspire, motivate, liberate, comfort and encourage those who have fallen down to rise and strive to reach their full potential. Mhlanga strongly believes that we all have a divinely inspired purpose that we need to identify and fulfill despite our experiences in life.  The author travelled across all the Southern African countries and the United States of America spreading messages of hope and restoration that he so passionately believes in.  The author believes that by sharing his life story and lessons learnt along the way, he would inspire broken souls to know that everyone is accepted and can live for God.

The book is divided into 11 chapters which range from topics such as Whose Dreams is it anyway, Pastor by day, Player by night, Confined freedom, Be your brother’s keeper, Withered greener pastures, 911 unavailable, Broken but, I fell, Haters in the house, Broken dreams don’t mean broken person, and A new you.  Show Casing Publishing Company publishes the book. Mhlanga said with the book, he does not mean to create an impression that he knows all, but rather he intends to inspire young people. “Sometimes it takes a great fall to stand tall so that you can realise how low you can get. When I was at the bottom, that’s when I realised that I have the capability to stand up, dust myself and move on,” he said.

“It was not easy to start and finish this project, and with it, I am not intending to create the impression that at the age of 26 I know it all. I believe the youth lack mentors and even at this point I also don’t have mentors. The youth need someone who will tell them that despite the odds all will be well at some point and be restored,” Mhlanga said.

Policy specialist at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Lawrence Ookeditse said the book is relevant and essential in schools. “This book is very relevant and essential in today society, where the youth need mentors in every aspect of their lives. These kinds of books are essential in our curriculum and I am going to lobby the Ministry of Education to include this book in schools. I want it to be across all the public libraries across the country so that people get to read message of hope,” Ookeditse said.
