Speaking after Saturday’s 3-1 win over BDF XI, Ndlovu stated that he is going to stick to his principles and will not be put under pressure by those who wants to satisfy their needs.

“I must say Orapa supporters must not start running before they can walk. Let them take it step by step and they will actually be a great team. It will be dangerously ambitious for them to say they want to get into the CAF final,” Madinda said.

He said it will be advisable for the supporters to target not being eliminated in the first round.

He said he cannot reveal his target for now since he does not know his opponents as yet. “Whoever comes we will play them. This is an experience for us. Look here, three to four years back there was no talking or singing about Orapa, nothing. It is a team that just came from being average to what it is now,” he said.

Quizzed on bolstering his squad ahead of the competition, Ndlovu said there is noway he can increase the squad because the league requires him to register 25 players whereas CAF says 30 players.

“What am I going to do with the extra five players that I am going to sign in January after they finish playing CAF? I will have to pay them for the rest of the contract without them playing in the league.

What we can talk about is whether we are doing the right thing as an association in the country. Are we doing things in accordance to the world standard?”

He said he cannot incur an expense that will haunt him. “There is nothing I can do. I will go with the 25 players into the CAF as required by our football association,” Madinda concluded.
