Motlha Dominates YAMAs Nominations

Motlha who hit the country by storm with his single ‘mmamotse’ this year had been nominated in the best newcomer, best single, best dance single, best R&B single, people’s choice/artist of the year and song of the year categories.
Motlha is pitted against many equally talented artists like Han C of ‘sedi laka’ fame. Another artist who received a couple of nominations is music producer Berry Bone.
His song with Han C called ‘mafurafura’ did well and managed to slot them into categories like best male single, best collabo, best dance single and song of the year. Talented trio Ice Cold Mob also managed to get in the nominations list after releasing their hit single called ‘about you’ featuring ATI.
Speaking of ATI, the ‘lekhete’ rapper who was the biggest winner at this year’s awards, managed to be nominated only in the social media award against social media comedians like William Last KRM and Monna O Motona.
Dramaiboi will be looking forward to his first award despite being nominated every year.
The motswako lyricist has been nominated in the best hip hop/motswako, best single male and song of the year categories.
MMP Family who won big at the YAMAs in 2015 also managed to get three nominations with their song called ‘Choose Day’ featuring Charma Gal. The 5th YAMAs will be held next year in February.
