The nimble-footed player finally took the weight off his shoulders with a curled strike outside the 18-yard area in the 63rd minute.

The goal was Rollers’ second of the afternoon. Simisane Mathumo opened the floodgates in the 20th minute, heading home Boy’s free-kick. Lemponye Tshireletso then got Popa’s third with a clinical finish from Edwin Moalosi’s assist while Mandlaenkosi Sibanda hit his own net to give Rollers an emphatic win over the rookies.

Rollers coach, Mark Harrison said he was happy for his team to have turned the match around in the second half after a poor first half display.

The Brit, who celebrated his 56th birthday on the day, also commended Boy for getting his first goal of the season. “During the week we had warned the players about that; coming from a big performance like we did against Gunners then going into the next match with less effort is unacceptable.

At halftime we spoke about that once more, told the players to pick up the tempo.

In the second half we played with better attacking intensity. We got to make it four and could have had more goals. It was also great for (Segolame) Boy to get his first goal of the season; and what a goal it was,” he said.

The win leaves Rollers in second position with 19 points from 11 games while Hotspurs are rooted in position 15 with only seven points.

Rollers are two points behind Orapa United who beat BDF XI 3-1 on Saturday. Matebele have dropped to eighth position with 14 points. In SelebiP-hikwe, Nico United over leaped BDF XI to seventh spot with a 3-2 win over bottom- placed Green Lovers.

Jwaneng Galaxy and Miscellaneous played to a one-all draw at the Galaxy Stadium.

The draw took Galaxy to the fourth spot while Miscellaneous sit on 13th place with 11 points. Extension Gunners returned to winning ways on Saturday evening against Gaborone United, while Police XI also beat Security Systems by a solitary goal to move to 10th spot.  Gilport Lions’ internal squabbles spilled into the field as the team brought only seven players for their scheduled fixture against Sankoyo Bush Bucks, forcing the game to be cancelled.
