A date has not yet been set for the reruns.

The four wards are Mogatsapoo, Mannonye, Motshegaletau and Moiyabana. Mannonye and Moiyabana are some of the wards, which have the highest numbers of voters in the BDP voters’ roll followed by Motshegaletau and Mogatsapoo.

Serowe South has 10 wards and the BDP voters’ roll has over 16,000 membership.  During the primary elections, over 6,998 people had voted.

Mogatsapoo has over 2,500 voters, Mannyonne 2,500, Mogatsaapoo 1,800 and Motshegaletau 1,500.

The five candidates who were battling it out include youthful Lesedi Phuthego who got 2,211, Tebelelo Seretse who got 1,877, Kolaatamo Malefho who garnered 1,630 votes, Sefhane Phuthego who managed 958 and Oteng Thankane who got a paltry 322 votes.

Therefore, the outcome of the results might declare one of the top three to be a winner if one stands strong in the four wards.

The BDP secretary general Mpho Balopi last week told the media that the Appeals Board had found out that there were irregularities in those wards.

Still, in those wards, Mogatsapoo and Mannonye will have a rerun for councillors.

The rerun came after some candidates made appeals to the party regarding the results and complained about certain things that happened during the primary elections.

The candidates had asked for the rerun for the whole constituency.

Takatokwane

The two wards, at which a rerun has been called might change the game and determine who the winner might be at the parliamentary contest.

Friction Leuwe had won with 2,077 votes followed by the incumbent Ngaka Ngaka with 2,059 votes.

The third candidate,  Tlotlo Thomas managed only 727 votes.

The two wards of Ditshegwane and Motokwe have a high population and lot of BDP members.

Leuwe stands a good chance at Ditshegwane since he originates from there and the contestants will have to campaign even harder at Motokwe, which has bigger cells.  Ngaka stands a chance if Thomas is willing to work with him.

Shoshong

The three wards of Mosolotshane/Moralane, Kalamare and Otse/Kodibeleng might also have an impact over the last results.

The winner of the parliamentary primary elections, Phillip Makgalemele will have to work hard since those wards have more than 2,700 voters on the voters’ roll.

Although Makgalemele got 2,522 votes followed by David Tibe’s 1,489 votes with Lebodi Gabayo coming last with only 916, there might be surprises in store.
