Mrs Botswana sees herself as Proverbs 31 woman

The 31-year-old wife and mother of two who hails from Serowe, married in Mochudi will be contesting against other beautiful queens from different countries across the globe. In an interview with Arts and Culture, Linchwe explained being Mrs Botswana queen was not only an honour but also a blessing that comes with an enormous responsibility.
“I perceive Mrs Botswana as a Proverbs 31 Woman, a woman who exemplifies a wife, a mother, grace, humility and overall a strong figure who is not afraid to chase her dreams. By being Mrs Botswana queen, I have achieved one of my many dreams. A dream to use such a platform to extend myself as a caretaker and mother in my own family to now be a mother of the entire nation of Botswana and an ambassador for marriage institution,” she said.
As the reigning queen, Linchwe vowed to be a change agent and expand beyond the strong woman that she is today. She said through her project Mosadi Tota (a platform that empowers women of all ages) she aims to build bridges towards inclusivity of women through empowering them and driving the sustainable development goal of gender based equality.
She explained that women and girls continue to suffer gender-based violence in every part of the world as seen with the recent horrific incident cases right here in Botswana. She said she believes that women empowerment and gender equality were a necessary, prosperous and sustainable Botswana.
“I believe obtaining good quality education is the foundation of creating sustainable development goal as well. For this I would use my voice and work towards continuous improvement of our education system, as I believe that there is still a lot to be done to create for both teaching and learning especially in Botswana’s rural areas.” She stated that being a woman in Information Technology, “an Industry that is mostly being in an innovation Industry I would like to form strategic partnerships with entities like Botswana Innovation Hub and the Ministry of Education to impart my knowledge and ICT skills, therefore contribute to a competitive and knowledge based society”.
She added that she would like to be a medium that all women could use to reach out to appreciate their beauty as women, walk together in building their confidence and be able to amplify suppressed voices. She said she would be an inspiration not only to women but to everyone by being a wife, a mother, a career woman and serving the community while ensuring that non of these four elements suffers yet continue to share and illuminate her beauty from inside out.
However, she called on local businesses to sponsor her with flight tickets and wardrobe needed for the main event. She said she would need flight tickets so that she would be able to compete in the international pageant.
