The company was selected from over 10 international suppliers who were invited to participate in a tender to provide work uniforms and personal protective equipment for all affiliates across Puma Energy’s footprint in Africa.

Premier is a local clothing manufacturer that specialises in industrial and corporate wear. According to Puma Energy Africa’s regional procurement manager, Cesar Solis the local company was chosen, amongst other factors, for the superior quality of their garments, competitive cost and excellent customer service. “Since their appointment, their ability to deal with all challenges in a pro-active, prompt and efficient manner has confirmed that they are the right partner to build this relationship with,” Solis said.

On his part Puma Energy Botswana general manager, Mahube Mpungwa said the strategic partnership contributes to sustainable economic development and creation of jobs in the process. “We are excited to have partnered with Premier Clothing Botswana on this new and exciting collaboration,” he said. “This demonstrates the capabilities of a local company and its employees to export products to the rest of the continent.”

He further highlighted that Premier Clothing Botswana would leverage on Ethiopian Airlines with scheduled flights into Gaborone and Addis Ababa as its hub to supply other markets.

Speaking on behalf of Premier Clothing, Mohammed Adam expressed his excitement over the African partnership and the opportunities it presented for the Botswana-based business. “We believe this partnership is testament to the strength of our reputation in Botswana and across the region, and is a commendation of the consistency of the quality of our work,” he said.

 “We are excited about this opportunity, as we believe it will provide us with a platform to grow beyond the region and thus contribute in our own way to the diversification of the economy of Botswana.”

Puma Energy Botswana is a locally registered fuel marketing company with 20% shareholding by the Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund thereby rendering the over 300,000 members of the Fund de-facto shareholders in the business.
