Phofhedi told Arts and Culture that  the pageantry grand finale would take place in Egypt next year March. He has hit the ground running, hosting Miss Eco International- Botswana auditions today at Masa Hotel.

“Miss Eco International is a pageant officially registered in 2015 by the Ministry of Culture in Egypt to a company called Eco spire, in support to Eco tourism.

Our main objective is to advance Botswana Eco tourism to international standards through visiting pristine, fragile and relatively undisturbed natural areas.

Tourism is often farfetched from the interest of youngsters hence the lack of understanding and ways to improve lifestyle through tourism,” he said. He said the pageant is one of the biggest eye openers to a lot of young persons about current affairs especially within the tourism sector.  He added that his love for research resulted in him being in contact with the directors of Miss Eco International where they later discussed the importance and possible positive impact the pageant can have towards the lives of Batswana.  He was then offered a contract for Miss Eco International as a national director. He said the local grand finale Miss Eco International Botswana would be in March next year where the dates will later be announced.

The winner will proceed to represent Botswana in Egypt at Miss Eco International that will be held at Meraki Resort end of March. “The pageant is under umbrella of the United Nations. All interested participants should contact the director on our Facebook page at Miss Eco International Botswana.

Auditions will start at 9am in Masa and there are no exceptions made on registration date,” he said.
