The outgoing LSB chairperson Lawrence Lecha revealed this in his annual report. “Following indications that Mr Seloko was continuing to practise and the fact that some clients of the erstwhile firm had not been given back their files and documents, and claims against the trust account continued to be received, it was resolved that an application be made to the High Court to place the firm under curatorship. This process is necessary in order to ensure orderly closure of the firm,” said Lecha.

He said Seloko is opposing this application. He also mentioned that following a series of interlocutory applications, in which the LSB succeeded, the main application for the disbarment of Seloko is set to proceed. The matter is before Justice Leatile Dambe.

In the meantime, Seloko had approached the council with a proposal for settlement. The council considered the proposal and resolved that whilst it was proposed that the society withdraws its application for disbarment, no motivation was provided for such action.

“Council also found that there had been change in circumstances from the time when it resolved to disbar Mr Seloko.”

Seloko is a leading BDP activist. He was for several years in the party’s central committee. In the law firm Isaac Seloko Attorneys’ website it says, “We also act for banks, parastatals and financial institutions, charitable education foundations, trust, private companies, the ruling political party and individuals”.
