Mafu said although the victory against Rollers should serve as a motivation, the focus now should be entirely on their next opponents.

“My job is to get everyone to forget about last game because that is done and dusted. We now have to focus on the next game because if we don’t, we will regret it,” he said.

Mafu said the fact that GU have not been doing well poses a danger to his side and they need to work hard.

“When Rollers came to us last weekend, we had not been doing well and look what happened. It is important that we treat this game seriously and forget about how they have been doing,” he added. Chiefs, who have been struggling up front, were in their element against Rollers and scored three goals to collect maximum points.

However, Mafu said although he is happy that they finally managed to utilise chances, he cannot say whether they have finally solved the problem. He said in that particular game, they came to the party and hopes that it continues in the next games. “What I know is that we will continue to create chances but then we should utilise them,” he said.

Chiefs will hope that Thatayaone Ramatlapeng maintains his form when he faces Moyagoleele tomorrow. The nippy striker gave Rollers a torrid time and scored a beautiful opener before he was named man-of-the-match. He will once again rely on the supply from creative midfielder, Dirang Moloi who seems to be getting back to his best.

GU mentor, Rodolfo Zapata said although he respects Chiefs as a big team, he is prepared for the challenge.

“We are always better than our opponents and dominate play most of the time. That is also risky because we leave a big space at the back because of the attacking play. We also do not score goals despite creating chances,” he said. Moyagoleele suffered a 2-1 defeat to Security Systems in the last game and Zapata said such silly goals have cost the team some important points.

“We have to try and score as quickly as possible to get a result,” he said. With Mpho Kgaswane now also slowly returning to form, an exciting attacking match looks to be on the cards. Youthful striker, Tumisang Orebonye will once again lead upfront while the likes of Hendrick Moyo give support in attack.
