Another woman found dead in Seherelela

The police suspect the deceased suspected might have been raped before she was murdered.  A passerby found her body lying in the bushes by the road in Seherelela village.

This follows after the gruesome murder incident of another Sesung woman, which occurred six months ago in Jwaneng, Unit 2 location during at the annual 1,000km Desert Race competition popularly known as Mantshwabisi.

The young woman was found dead, naked and dumped in the bush, and it was suspected that she had been gang raped.

“We received a report by a passerby on Sunday morning.  We suspect that she might have been killed on Saturday night.  After receiving the report we rushed to the crime scene where we found the woman laying lifeless.  We rushed her to Jwaneng Mine Hospital where she was certified dead by the doctors on arrival,” Jwaneng Police station commander, superintendent Thuso Basuti said.

Basuti said the deceased did not sustain any visible injuries, but they cannot dismiss possibilities of injuries, hence they are waiting on post mortem results.

He stated that investigations are ongoing to establish what transpired and arrest possible suspect(s).  He expressed concern over cases of this nature in his policing area.
