Event coordinator and the owner of the joint, Thoko Ratsatsi, said Splash would be returning to Mochudi after having last performed there 10-years-ago at Motel Lodge, which was at the time the hottest spot in the area. “Dalom Music Tour Splash is powered by Vintage Pub and Grill together with Morwa Recreational Park. After realising that Splash fans in Mochudi and surrounding areas have not seen their favourite disco artists perform for a decade we decided to give them an early Christmas present by giving them an opportunity to see them in their village,” he said.

Ratsatsi also known as DJ Thoko said for the past 10 years Splash fans from Mochudi had to travel as far as Molapowabojang, Mahalapye and other parts just to see their favourite South African disco groups perform, which he said was not safe. He further pointed out that knowing that the crew has a large fan base they hired a security company and bouncers who would ensure that the revelers are safe.

Local and international performers, and DJs in the likes of disco music kingpin, Dan Tshanda, Dalom Kids, Matshikos, Peacock, Mpho, Montana, Rhuu, DJ Rasmalik, DJ Thoko, DJ Zoo and MC Banks are expected to thrill the audience with performances expected to last until Saturday morning.

The disco legend Dan Tshanda did not complete his primary school due to lack of funds. When he was older he worked as a taxi driver. He later made a demo cassette, which was the start of his music career. At the time, he started a group known as Flying Squad. After his first album failed to make a mark in the music industry, he worked hard and got record deals from renowned artists and record labels, that is when his music career flourished.

Due to his dedication and love for his music, Dan Tshanda has always been on top and is striving to remain on top. He has proven that by producing the best albums for each group that he produces for.

His music has now crossed the borders into African countries such as Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Nigeria etc, and abroad, specifically in North America, Australia, England, and France. Dan Tshanda has under his leadership groups and artists including, Matshikos, Dalom Kids, Peacock, Don B and a new upcoming artist called Hexa.  Ratsatsi said they would allow cooler boxes and free entry for cars. The festival will start at 7pm and end at 7am. Tickets are sold at the following outlets; Street Horn Music Café, Molapo Crossing, Vintage Pub and Grill in Mochudi and Morwa, Chillers Kopong (Seepokeng), The Centre Butchery, and Monamakgotla Butchery.
