Kalayame concert on the festive cards

The all local lineup event will headline masters of the decks such as La Timmy, DJ Sly, DJ Gouveia, Darkboy Masey, and DJ Chabo just to mention but a few.
The event owner, Masego Ntshontsi popularly known as Darkboy Masey told Arts & Culture that the concept of Kalayame comes from a Setswana saying which means motho wa gaetsho/lesika lame. “The whole idea behind the event is to have an all-local lineup because we feel local guys are capable enough to give us the highest quality of entertainment. “We also need to empower our upcoming local artists,” he said.
The DJ and music producer further said the first event was a big success and this time around they have extended times by starting at 12 noon to cater for kids and the elderly.
“Our aim this time around is mainly to empower the local communities so we have increased the number of artists from these villages therefore we are giving local businesses a platform to showcase and sell their products and services through stalls.” The tickets are sold at P50 in advance and P60 at the gate. The tickets for children cost P20 and are available at selected Choppies outlets.
