The picnic is planned for the first episode of what will later turn into an annual event. Sun El Musician recently released three hit songs titled Sonini, Ntaba Ezikude and Ubala, and featuring Simmy.

The soulful house DJ dropped a 12-track album titled Africa to the World on April 20 this year.  King of slow jam, DJ Ace confirmed on his social media pages that he would be blasting the locals with his slow tempo hits.

DJ Ace converts or recreates high tempo house music to slow jam tracks that have currently gained momentum.

The DJ is also booked for another event in Mahalapye, two days post the 4th Street Picnic event. The promoter of 4th Street Picnic, Oabile Wonder Thibelang told Arts & Culture that they are expecting about 3,000 people to be in attendance.  “Our choice of artists is good enough to attract enough numbers. DJ Ace and Sun El Musician’s music hits are currently trending and we are optimistic that people will assemble here to watch them perform their latest music,” Thibelang said.  As it is, many events at various places across the country are set to take place on the same date.

“Our garden is premium, meaning that it is better than most places that will host entertainment events that same day. Garden venues offer relaxation that entices and are preferred by our target people who are the youth and elders,” he said.

Lately, picnics have become the it-thing across the country since the summer began, and most are held on weekends and holidays.

Local acts including Chef Gustos, Ricky Lamar, DJ Phouboy just to mention a few will be on the decks moving the crowds.  Young and upcoming artists have also been offered opportune moments to showcase their fresh talents to the attendants. Bonnie B of Yarona FM is amongst the master of ceremonies at the picnic that is set to kickstart by mid-day.   Choppies retail and Liquorama liquor outlets are the movers of the early bird tickets, which are priced at P70 while standard tickets go for P100.
