Mogomotsi, who was serving as Mochudi Centre Chiefs vice chairperson, died following a terrible car accident on Friday night in Gaborone.

He was also serving as the chairperson of Kgatleng Regional Football Association.

Mogomotsi, who has been Chiefs’ spokesperson for many years was also the club’s representative at the Botswana Premier League (BPL) board.

He, together with the likes of Ernest Molome and Raymond Tsheko have been credited with turning Magosi into a formidable side in 2006 when they started serving in the executive committee.

His death, however, comes at a time when the club is facing a crisis and sitting at the bottom of the log standings.

It was during his tenure as Chiefs administrator that the Kgatleng giants managed to win four league titles.

Chiefs’ rivals, Township Rollers are amongst those that released statements on Saturday mourning on the passing of Mogomotsi.

“On Saturday morning I got notifications of the passing away of Cliff, but I spent about three hours in a state of disbelief. “It was after I went to the Central Police Station and saw the vehicle in question that it sank in. We have lost an experienced football administrator who had been involved in the game for a long while and we have thus been robbed of his experience,” Rollers spokesperson, Bafana Pheto posted to the club’s website on Saturday.
