In an interview with Mmegi online, acting station commander for Tonota police station, Superintendent Ontibele Motadiile confirmed that there is a case, which was laid against Moatlhodi on Sunday night.

He said the former Tonota Member of Parliament was accused of beating the child after he stole mangoes from his yard.

Motadiile said the child sustained minor injuries from the beating and was taken to clinic for medical treatment.

He added that the victim was later discharged and is still recovering from the injuries at home.

Motadiile said Moatlhodi was later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

PPP is expected to appear before the Francistown magistrate’s court very soon.

Moatlhodi has reserved his comment stating that he took a vow not to be interviewed by journalists as some of them always misinterpret him.
