The Zimbabwean flag and colours were all one could see upon entry at the venue. Local DJ and Btv’s Flava Dome resident DJ La Timmy kick-started the electrifying night of dancehall in front of the half-full Piazza.

The man who married his long-term girlfriend two weeks ago had fans eating out of the palm of his hands with his energetic dance moves. La Timmy, who told Showtime that he is busy cooking up a storm in studio, will in the not too distant future release his next offering. He was later spotted at the VIP section enjoying the other performances with his wife.

Although only half of the Judgment Yard crew turned up for Saturday’s event, things really started firing up when they got onto the stage. The Harare-based group serenaded the crowd with hits from Lucky Dube and Bob Marley. By that time, attendants who had already drawn closer to the stage had their Zimbabwe national flag in the air.

After the Judgment Yard Crew, it was now time for the man of the moment. The mood at the Molapo Piazza was already on record high.

Winky D, of the Disappear fame, could not contain his excitement about the love he has been receiving from Batswana. In recognition of the love this past Friday, he exclusively launched his music video to the song Disappear only on Botswana’s Flava Dome before the world could see it.

This means that Batswana were the first to receive the video even before his native country.

Throughout his performance he kept repeating “Botswana thank you”. Clad in an all white attire, Winky D closed off his set with Disappear. The song was released mid 2014 but was to later receive appreciation from Batswana only this year. After performing the song he told the crowd that he had heard there was a Botswana dance-move to his song and asked attendants to come and show it to him on stage, and so they did.

The show dubbed “one love concert” started in Francistown at the new Francistown stadium on Friday to what insiders say was a not so well attended show.

According to a source close to the organisers only a handful of people pitched up for the event, but the show went on nonetheless.
