Mosielele rubbishes suspension claims

It was alleged that Mosielele had been suspended for hosting Khama at the Moshupa kgotla. Khama visited Moshupa last week to handover the P20,000 he had promised Moshupa residents when he bid them farewell last year for the completion of their kgotla shelter. Moshupa was the first village Khama visited to start a series of meetings to bid the nation farewell.
They showered him with gifts and he decided to donate part of the money they donated back to them. He went to Moshupa while President Mokgweetsi Masisi was out of the country.
Area legislator, Karabo Gare was also not present at the event. When contacted Thursday, he said though he was made aware of the handing over by Mosielele, he did not find it important to attend the ceremony.
This fuelled speculation that Masisi was not impressed with Mosielele hosting Khama in his home village leading to his alleged suspension.
Masisi and Khama’s differences are well documented. Mosielele has however, since come out to rubbish the rumours stating that he was simply on leave. “I have heard of those rumours and I wonder were they come from or what those peddling them want to achieve.
“I have been on leave since mid-December and left my deputy at the kgotla. “I then came back to receive the P20,000 from the former president and then went back to continue my leave,” he said.
Mosielele absolved himself from any wrongdoing that would warrant his suspension.
He said he has not even been questioned for any suspected wrongdoing nor be warned that he could face any criminal charges.
In October, Mosielele led his morafe to organise a party celebrating Masisi’s ascendance to the presidency in Moshupa. The Director of the Department of Tribal Administration Masego Mooketsi confirmed that indeed Mosielele was not suspended from work.
