Babies seem to have an everlasting enchanting power that has no boundary amongst every living thing. After watching Storks, a 2016 3D animated comedy, it leaves you in cloud nine appreciating the blessing that is to have a new form of life. This comedy centres around the family; what is like to have one and how it can influence one’s life. In this adventure, Storks deliver babies or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for global Internet giant Cornerstore.com. Junior, the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorised baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.

Animated films are of the bestselling genres as they exaggerate reality beyond our wildest imagination and major Hollywood stars often disguise as funny looking characters. Well, it is no different as this comedy is loaded with funny actors among them Andy Samberg (Hotel Transylvania 3) as the main character being supported by stars from Horrible Bosses 2, Desperado, and Transformers Age of Extinction alongside standup comedians redefining the word crazy. Renowned animators Nick Stoller (Neighbors 2014) and Oscar winning Doug Sweetland (The Incredible) were the brains behind this rib cracking tailored production.  Animated films command huge followings as for instance three 2016 animated films have done well on the all time highest grossing film chart with Finding Dory sitting fourth with $1,069,818 billion sales followed by Zootopia on fifth ($1023, 664 billion) then The Secret Life Of Pets coming in at 11th with $872 million according to the all time stats from numbers.com/movie/records/All-Time-Worldwide-Animated. It remains to be seen if Storks will break those records.

Action

Storks caught yours truly by surprise with a delightful experience from animated films, which are usually often deemed for minors. The film is inspiring as it shows how today’s societies are often work-oriented leading to attention and quality time insufficiency. Contrary to that, however, with Storks delivering babies to families this illustrates how broods often bring about change to families bringing unity and joy amongst families. It is typical even in reality that whenever a child is born friends show appreciation with gestures such as baby showers and so forth. That is one of my highlights, apart from that this comedy also taps into themes like decision making, parenting, love, desire and the main subject, family. This comedy also puts parenting skills under the lens as it shows that there is quite a lot human beings can reap from birds as Junior (Andy Samberg) demonstrates noble parenting skills to Tulip and baby Diamond Destiny implying to the naked eye that bird species are better parents than us humans and other mammals. This is because birds swiftly take turns taking care of their young ones as opposed to humans who sometimes abandon their young ones with the mother. Moving right along this film is also very witty because of the stupidity aspect that yields a lot of humour and broken ribs. For  instance, there is this retarded stork by the name Pigeon Toady. This character spoke with a very hilarious accent that was almost in the form of a lisp but rather Toady’s tone sounded as if it lacked energy. This character thrilled the audience with its idiotic behaviour coupled with peer pressure demons and left the audience decimated with laughter singing, ‘How do you like me now’. Meanwhile this film is also fascinating because it is unique in the sense that antagonists’ motives shock the audience as the story unfolds yielding huge jaw dropping twists that even a Formula One race driver cannot maneuver. So Storks is very engaging and relevant if you know what I mean. This is also because of the cinematography. The film is made out of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) effects to generate cartoon appearances of birds different from other animations living in a very tranquil setting. That also coupled with the soundtracks generated a very good feeling about the movie Storks. It presses one’s buttons wonderfully taking one through the joy, sorrow and upliftment in all with very provoking sounds some of which include some from Jason Derulo.

Quotes from the movie that shed humour

Junior: No! Just a brief exposure to baby cuteness can ruin your life!
