Boko comes to the rescue of pupils

Boko runs a programme called Constituency Outreach, where he visits clinics, primary, junior, senior and tertiary schools within his Gaborone Bonnington North constituency.
On Monday he paid a courtesy call on Itumeleng Primary and the school management raised their concerns of shortage of chairs for their Standard 4 pupils. “When I came to this school on Monday, I was very disturbed to hear that Standard 4 students are in short of 120 chairs to an extend of having two students sharing a chair.
“I was deeply hurt by this situation and to my imagination, I couldn’t bear seeing students sharing a chair, leading to their schoolwork being affected. As the school is named ‘Itumeleng’ it means students should be happy and rejoice in completing of their primary school level. This called for the need for me to donate these chairs to provide a conducive learning environment for future leaders,” Boko said.
The acting school head, Tonko Ntsayakgosi, said she is very happy that the MP saw the need to extend a hand of goodwill by attending to this situation within a short period of time.
“Our school is blessed to have people like Duma Boko and Ureka Company, which donated computers and other clubs that supported us in times of need,” she said. On behalf of all students, a Standard 4 pupil Katso Gaolebale thanked the legislator for the chairs that he donated.
Boko will, however, continue his outreach next week, by donating 10 more chairs to BTA clinic in Bosele, crayon colour kits to reception classes at Mophane Primary School in Block 5, and also the need to visit Moselewapula and Diphetogo Primary Schools in Phase 2. He will focus on his constituency for the first three months of the year before covering other parts of the country.
