TASC out to trim Cats� claws

Cats dominated for the three seasons since 2011, before a two-year hiatus, while TASC were runners-up in 2011, 2012 and 2013. But TASC fancy their chances against their nemesis.
The Championship is a culmination of the two leagues played in the south and north zones.
Two teams who finished first and second from the northern league, TASC and Orapa Wanderers will battle it out with their southern counterparts defending champions BDF Cats and UB Crystals.
The championship returns after a two-year absence due to lack of sponsorship. The Tango Girls have taken advantage of the two-year blackout and overhauled their squad promoting their development players and the Francistowners believe the girls are ripe to dethrone the Cats.
The only player who is remaining from the team that had played the reverse finals is Florah Keeditse who will be leading the young charges.
Their key players are Amantle Never, Chelido David and Kgomotso Matibini who have been outstanding in their league campaign in the north. Tango Girls are however wary of all their other opponents at the finals. Team coach, Oscar David said competition in the north was not as tough as the one in the south and believes the two southern teams would equally be tougher opponents.
Nonetheless, he said they went an extra mile in their preparations to complement that shortfall and get the girls to the right mentality for the finals.
“Like all the teams going into this competition, we fancy our chances,” he said.
“We have played a number of finals against Cats and they still have the same team that we know and we know what to expect. They are very experienced players but we believe our young girls have grown with the league and they are ready, we are in the right shape both mentally and physically. But we must also respect the other opponents especially UB Crystals who have made it (to the finals) from a very competitive southern league,” he added.
