Bright remains calm amid Wanderers storm

The arrival of the experienced Bright, who has coached in the South Africa’s top league, raised expectations for the Palapye side, which was promoted from Division One at the beginning of the season.
Instead of instilling fear, with a marquee coach, Wanderers find themselves sitting just three places off the bottom with only one win in six matches.
Last weekend, Wanderers and Bright emerged with a defeat from the jaws of victory away to Sua Flamingoes. Wanderers were leading 2-1 with five minutes but Flamingoes produced a remarkable comeback to win 4-2.
“I was shocked,” Bright said. “It was a first in my entire football career to see such sloppy goalkeeping, our goalkeeper lost concentration when we thought we had the game in the bag and gave three shocking goals in four minutes, I have never seen that,” Bright said.
However, amid the whirlwind Bright is still calm. He said they could rescue the season and finish in a comfortable position.
The biggest problem, he said, is lack of depth and experience in his arsenal.“I came in late and inherited a squad that had just been promoted from Division One, without experience of the level that we compete in.
I could not make changes at the time and what I have realised is they are struggling to adapt to the level of coaching I have brought and they make a lot of mistakes but there has been an improvement,” he said.
“We also have a problem of depth, if we incur three, four injuries then we run out of options but we must be patient. We will try to hold on until the January window.
I believe if we beef up with a few players in January then we will finish in a respectable position and then we can build for promotion next season,” he added.
As anticipated, competition is tough in the northern First Division and demoted Premiership sides, BR Highlanders and Motlakase Power Dynamos have been dominant with TAFIC hanging on to their coattails.
