Kablay unmoved by motion of no confidence

“The same minister who gave WeekendPost newspaper an interview is the one who raised a complaint against me during the BDP caucus last week. There is no one who made a comment after he spoke. I had requested that my duty as a chief whip be fully explained if some ministers or MPs do not want me to grant the media interviews,” Kablay said yesterday.

Kablay says the duty of the chief whip cannot only be to check if Parliament is forming a quorum or not. He says the responsibility of chief whip is to get answers about the behaviour of MPs, especially on what happens in Parliament.

“It is shocking because that minister is my superior but he cannot go and attack me in the media. Setswana sa re susu ilela suswane gore suswane e go ilele. How am I supposed to respect him if he can’t respect me?  These are the kinds of people who I am talking about who want to bring division amongst others. Why can’t they bring someone they think could do the job better than me?”

Kablay said even if some BDP MPs could achieve to topple him he will remain as the MP for the area he was voted for.

He says he is not apologetic of what he said when he called on the BDP MPs to stop betraying their party when the party caucus had taken a resolution on a matter.
