Loapi Events is an event management company owned by rappers-cum-businessmen Thato ‘Scar’ Matlhabaphiri and Aotlhe ‘Trauma’ Boiteto. Sasa Klaas joins Yarona FM radio host Tshepi esS and Scar that are the only artists signed under Loapi Events. Sasa Klaas had been an independent artist for some time after parting ways with Virgin Brew a few months ago.

“I have signed up with Loapi; they will be working as my management, handling various things such as bookings, endorsements and my brand. It’s been a long time coming. I have previously worked with them a number of times and I respect the way they handle business,” Sasa Klaas.

Having partnered with Loapi Events, Sasa Klaas stated that her brand will develop into something new and better from what she has been currently known for on various aspects such as associations, musical performances, appearances and bookings.

“Being under a management company gives you a structure as you get to focus on the music while they work on the business side of it. Expect a more mature Sasa Klaas that performs with a band, dresses a bit decent and more corporate,” she said.

It is not a secret that a few months ago Sasa Klaas parted ways with her former record label and management, Virgin Brew after she had recorded a number of tracks for her debut album which is not yet released. Most of the tracks were recorded in South Africa by producers such as Thasman, Air Dee and Lunatik of Caracara fame, but she decided to leave after putting all the work before anything was executed expect for her single MmamoNgwato.

“I have decided to leave the past in the past, everything I left at Virgin Brew will stay there. I will just take my intellectual property, which are my lyrics. I will just work on new music which is more relevant,” Sasa Klaas said.

Loapi Events is famously known for planning and hosting events such as Fashion and Dining Mondays at Jessy’s Bistro including the Hip-Hop and RnB live sessions held at Chez Nicolas.

“We have signed a contract with Sasa as her management. We will focus on different avenues such as PR, bookings, image, getting her endorsements and brand consultancy to mention but a few. We are currently working on her brand, changing her into a brand relevant to this era and monetising the brand” said Trauma.

Trauma noted that they have previously worked with Sasa Klaas when she was still an independent artist. Then, she used to perform at their various events and she was impressed by their work ethics until the two parties sat down and agreed to sign a contract.

“As her management, we asked her what she wants as an artist; she told us and we shall deliver,” he said. As part of branding Sasa Klaas, they want to make her to be more relevant to the corporate world without limiting her creativity. He hinted that this week they will be announcing an endorsement deal for Sasa Klaas.

With Loapi Events famously known for hosting and planning events, Trauma stated that Scar is in charge of the music side more while he  (Trauma) works on the business side and as a team. Scar is one of the first rappers in the country to get an endorsement deal with mobile company Orange with branded cell phones.
