The tackle saw Koko dislocate his knee and was rushed to hospital where they managed to put it back in place. Club chairperson, Njabulo Gilika said yesterday the doctors were unable to do a scan immediately because his knee was still swollen.

“They are trying to deal with the swelling of the knee at the moment. From there, he will then go for scan to determine the extent of the injury but you can see he is in pain,” he said.

He said they will only be able to tell how long he will be sidelined after the scan. Before his injury, Koko had already played a positive role in the game and had a hand in the first goal.

He was replaced by Morris Rudzivo. Kebue received his marching orders from referee, Lekgotla Johannes for the tackle.

He immediately offered his apology and sent a message to Koko. “Let me send my apology to my brother Manando for the challenge I made yesterday. It was not my intention to injure you. Speedy recovery abuti (brother),” Kebue said on Twitter. Koko acknowledged the apology. “Re setse re buile melaiti (we have spoken), like I said relax, stay calm. Ha ke ya e tsaya ka mahatlha (I am not bitter about it).

Will get better. Get your head up, learn something from it,” Koko responded. Other players also took to Twitter and sent messages to the speedy winger. “Wishing you a speedy recover @Manando,” Township Rollers midfielder, Ntesang Simanyana said. Former Koko’s team mate at Chiefs, Onalethata Tshekiso also wished him well.
