Satmos docked six points

At a hearing held here at Kutlwano Police Station on Saturday, the club was given two weeks to appeal the ruling.
The team secretary, Goabaone Batlhalefi and team member Mothanka Ntotang represented Satmos.
Satmos failed to play Maun Tigers and Chobe United in Kasane respectively.
As a result of the charge, both Maun Tigers and Chobe United will be awarded three soft points and two goals each for their respective fixtures against Satmos.
FDN secretary general, Rapula Gaotlhobogwe confirmed the charge and said they suspect Satmos management is still struggling to find a common ground although the committee tried to help resolve the problems at the club.
“Satmos need to do housekeeping. We have tried to help them work together and they made up before us. We are surprised they still have these problems,” he said.
“We had summoned them and they had not brought substantial reasons as to why they failed to honour the two fixtures and they were fined as per the play rules and regulations.” Satmos have not known rest since dropping to the second tier league last season. They endured a power struggle in the off season followed by a mass exodus of players and then an impasse between the newly assembled players and the management which was a result of the team missing their opening game of the season against Maun Tigers.
And similarly, unresolved issues in the leadership of the team were sighted as one of the reasons the team did not honour the other fixture against Chobe United. Recently the team coach, Mogolodi Chepete complained that management had deserted the team. Over the weekend cross town rivals, Real Movers added salt to injury with a 4-3 win over Satmos. The ruling means Satmos are now second from the bottom with four points and minus seven goal difference. In other weekend games, Sua Flamingoes came from a two-goal deficit to beat Morupule Wanderers 4-2 in Sowa Town. In the Francistown derby played on Sunday at the Francistown Old Stadium, TAFIC walloped TASC 2-0. The other three games ended in draws; ECCO 2-2 Chobe, Maun Tigers 0-0 Motlakase and GNT 1-1 Highlanders.
