The men, Kitso Makwati, Bonno Mokgothe, Onkabetse Mogotso and Kitso Seiso appeared before Village chief magistrate Mompati Taolo. They were arrested on Monday.

The men shot dead Jinah Naik on October 1, 2016 in front of his family. According to the charge sheet, in addition to the murder, they are also charged with armed robbery.

In the robbery charge the men allegedly made way with an Iphone S5 worth P7,000, Ipad valued at P7,000, a gold watch worth P2,000, a gold necklace worth P 1,000, two gold chains worth P40,000 and P70,000 respectively, gold earrings worth P50,000, two sets of hand jewellery (hand bracelets) worth P70,000 and P50,000.

The state prosecutor, Christinah Ramokwena pleaded with the court to further remand the accused persons citing that investigations into the case are at initial stage. She said that they would be calling the Investigating Officer into the case in the next mention to give further testimony.

The case will mention again on November 21 where the Magistrate will deal with the bail application of the four accused men.
