The event organiser, Godwin ‘Exotic’ Sebina of Exzozo Entertainment told Arts & Culture in an interview that the event will be Botswana’s edition of Distruction Boyz’s manager Sphamandla “Spha” Gumede’s birthday tour. “They will be celebrating their manager’s birthday tour which is also happening in Soweto, Swaziland, Mozambique and here,” he said.   He added that Batswana would get a chance to tap into the Durban gqom movement.

Distruction Boyz, whose real names are Zipho ‘Goldmax’ Mthembu and Thobani ‘Que’ Mgobhozi is popularly known for their hit single omunye that was released two years ago.  Their debut album Gqom Is the Future was certified gold by RISA making it the first gqom album to ever achieve this status.

Distruction Boyz’s hit Amaxoki ft. DJ Tira & KDot is currently trending and topping the music charts.  They will get a chance to serve fans with songs from their sophomore album, titled It Was All A Dream.  The album features DJ Tira, Mr Eazi and Dladla Mshunqisi amongst others.  Most of their tracks have that signature ingredient that makes their gqom music danceable and infectious.  Most of the songs on the album are instrumental no wonder the event is called Sunday Drums & Braai Chronicles.
