Kau, who has been doing stand-up comedy for the past 20 years, once again proved that he is one of the best funny men of this generation.

The concert did not attract a big crowd as many seats at the Maitisong hall were not occupied, but it proved to be a good night for the sizeable audience who had made their way to the Maru-A-Pula School venue.

Comfort ‘Big Fish’ Ramatebele was the host MC for the event.

Local comedians including Kgafela and Mawee had already warmed up the stage, and his was just to continue where the two left off, and he did not disappoint.

For quite some time, many people had written Kau off due to his previous lukewarm shows that he did in the country, but he showed that he still has the flair and jokes up his sleeve as he kept his audience entertained throughout.

He showed his class and versatility, joking just about everything that he laid his eyes on. He joked about Bakang Seretse’s recently attached properties by the State and his wealth, while also making references to the recent arrest of former spy chief Isaac Kgosi.

“You know, I didn’t tell you that I drove all the way here because I wanted to sell my car to Bakang. But it’s funny because there was no need to do that, he could have sent one of his many cars to go tow my car this side,” he joked, to the laughter of the audience.

The Free State-born comedian also touched on his life experiences and his comedy journey.

Whilst on stage, Kau said he has always adored his Botswana fans and enjoyed performing in the country. He said the show is part of his 20th anniversary of his career.

“You guys have always been amazing, I love u guys. I have been doing this for 20 years now and have travelled places and performed before amazing crowds. I decided to start my tour here because of the connection we have,” he said.

Kau is famed with his Blacks Only comedy franchise where he has performed alongside some of SA comedy giants in the likes of Trevor Noah, Skhumba Hlophe, Sifiso Nene, Riaad Moosa, Somizi Mhlongo as well as international acts.
