Matebele have at their disposal the leading cup goal scorer, Kobamelo Keibakanye, Namibian Kambwe Katjiteo and Richard Legwaila.

The army boys are oozing with confidence after handing league champions, Township Rollers their first defeat of the season last weekend.  Under the tutelage of disciplined Louis ‘Sarafina’ Setshwane, BDF XI are yet to taste defeat this season while they scored six goals in the process.

Moyagoleele on the other hand are not having the best start to the season. Following a messy preseason, the storm is set to calm as the club has been boosted with P2 million sponsorship deals with management coming out publicly to support under fire coach, Rolo Zapata. GU playing with a relatively younger squad is yet to transform their last season form into the new season.  GU hold a record of two Mascom Top 8 wins and would be looking to make it three this season.

Players to watch

Richard Legwaila (BDF XI): ‘Ortega’ as he is affectionately known has been instrumental in the team’s resurgence this season. Since making a winter transfer move from Orapa United, Legwaila has been in fine form.

His reading of the game and passing skills have brought back the creativity the team has been lacking since the departure of Kabelo Seakanyeng in January.

Kabelo Seakanyeng (GU): GU have been lacking a prolific goal scorer since the departure of Benson Shilongo to South Africa.  However, Seakanyeng has on numerous occasions saved Moyagoleele.

His speed, skill and off the ball movements give defenders headaches. The 23-year-old has occasionally been let down by his final ball but on his day is a thorn to any defence.
