This comes after Satmos failed to honour their weekend fixture against Chobe United in Kasane.  Satmos also failed to show up for their opening game against Maun Tigers in Maun.

“It’s just me and the players,” Chepete said. “The team management doesn’t come to training anymore. I have tried calling others close to the team, but they don’t answer their phones. We don’t know where they are.”

He said the First Division committee had previously engaged the management. After the talks, the team managed to play an away fixture in Palapye without much hassle and they thought the problems were resolved. Chepete said they were taken by surprise on Friday after the team was disrupted at the last minute before they left for Kasane.

“We had prepared well the whole week. The players showed commitment and were excited ahead of the Chobe (United) game.

“On Thursday I personally met with (Mooketsi) Mading for the final preparations of the trip and it was sorted, only to be told on Friday when I had gathered the team that the trip won’t be possible and that I should release the players,” he said. Chepete said the players were frustrated after learning they would not be going to Kasane, however, they returned to training this week to prepare for their next game against cross-town rivals, Real Movers. He said this situation is killing the team’s morale and is affecting the players psychologically and if management does not resolve their differences a similar feat would repeat in their next away fixture.

“It is difficult to prepare for our games when in the back of our minds we are not sure if we will make it to that game. We can’t be committed enough and that is certainly going to affect our results but we are back training. With the way things are going, if the management does not resolve their issues and come back to the team I don’t see us playing away fixtures,” he said.

Chepete has also threatened to quit. “If we miss the next fixture because of the same reasons then there is no use for me to carry on. I can’t keep on frustrating myself with issues I can’t solve.  I will have to leave the team to the owners.”

Satmos will appear before the league committee this weekend to give their reasons as to why they failed to honour the two fixtures. Efforts to get a comment from chairperson, Israel Abel were futile while team manager, Keitshokile Moswela previously saying he is unaware of what is going on as he is usually away due to work commitments.
